"Believers should enter more into the grace and love of God in giving, for, remember, that God gave his best for us therefore we should give our tenth as our least to him.” - George Muller
"But what is very significant is this, that in each great revival of godliness that Jehovah sent unto Israel, tithing is one of the things that is mentioned as being renewed and restored among them." - A.W. Pink
“The New Testament always exceeds the Old (Matt. v.20). Acceptance of the tenth part at least, as a divinely ordained measuring rod for what is correctly proportionate giving in the child of God, is a splendid cheek upon the truthfulness, and therefore acceptability, of our offerings to God.” - Donald Gee
"We claim, to be under the Christian dispensation, and free from the yoke of the law; but the question is, How much advance have we made in our Christian modes of giving? The simple fact is, that we are giving nothing in comparison to the Jew, and that it would be a blessed thing if we should take upon ourselves, as Christ’s yoke, the Jewish law of giving.” - A.T. Pierson
The famous Hymn writer Frances Ridley Havergal wrote the words: “Take my silver and my gold, Not a mite would I withhold.” It was her practice and principle “not less than a tenth.” Sadly the prosperity gospel has blackened the truth of tithing but every age can hold forth men and woman of God who faithfully tithed; Spurgeon, Donald Gee, and a host of great preachers and teachers held to tithing as a New Testament practice under grace in a new covenant.
“I was thus led to the determination to set apart not less than one-tenth of whatever moneys I might earn or become possessed of for the Lord’s service.” - Hudson Taylor
